Self motivation tips - 4 useful tricks

Motivating yourself may be a challenging task at times but we can all agree that more or less, it’s not that hard, or is it?  Our goals may seem unreachable at times but there are a few tricks and self motivation tips you can use keep going. Having the energy and excitement should be enough to not give up, but finding it is a whole different story.

Here are a few self motivation tips to keep the ball rolling:

4 self motivation tips

1. Write it down
Identifying what you want will make it easier to get motivated. This mantra will help you get up in the morning. It is best to make a list of your goals with all the specifics. Meaning, with deadlines and details in what exactly you want to achieve. That way, there will be more “pressure” on yourself but in a good way since you know you’ll be doing everything for your own good.

2. Just imagine
Pleasure and pain are the two deciding factors of motivation according to Tony Robbins. Your visualization of an outcome will help you keep your spirit. One such feeling is the feeling of success—just like the achievement of winning a championship game or earning a promotion with a much bigger salary. Imaging these scenarios or one of your dreams will give you that drive to get you through a slump. The feeling will further push you to work at it. Amplifying these feelings will also help direct your everyday work into a long term practice.

3. Things to cross out
It’s better to eliminate the parts of your life that could demotivate you. Avoid areas that you’re not good at or destructive relationships that keep you from doing your thing. Removing unhealthy aspects of your life will set you on the right path where you excel to your fullest potential.

4. Reaffirmation
Doing what you want while getting to your goals is the best combination that you could use in self-motivation. Use this to your advantage and remind yourself of it. Having that goal in mind will give you that boost of energy to work at the grind everyday when everybody else would be complaining that they hate their jobs. You can even try talking about it with friends so they can act as witnesses to your cause. Your loved ones would also be a great support if there’s a time you can’t find the motivation within yourself.
